What is UX/UI? Does my business need this?

UX Design stands for User Experience. Just within the name itself, you may immediately see how important this is to be perfect for any website. When a user lands on your website, they already have an intent. The intent is to analyse if your product or service is the right one for them. One substantial issue stands in the way well before they even have the chance to make this analysis, and that is the journey they must take to find what they’re searching for. More often than not, users abandon the website due to their frustrations in trying to find what they want.

UI Design is what we often refer to as the “cherry on top” and stands for User Interface design. Often focusing on things like typography, colour/contrast, spacing and other visual aspects of the design. UI Design aims to eliminate screen anxiety due to poor choices made by designers, like over-cluttering screens and poor colour choices. This not only impacts the user’s mental state on the website but diverts them from making decisions you may intend them to make.

What industries does Collabrium work with?

We have never simply stuck to one industry and claimed that we specialise in one specific industry. Why? Because that would just simply go against our brand and reputation. Our clients know us for our continuous in-depth research into their brand, industry, clients, and service/products. So even when it comes to a new client within the same industry as a client we already may be working with, their brand, clients and service/products are entirely different. This means a distinct market position for that company. So the research starts from scratch.

What process should I expect from your agency?

Our process is completely different from project to project. We offer a range of services that can introduce different approaches, and they can vary from client to client since we love collaborating with our clients on projects.

But the foundational process for most work we carry out starts with research, implementation, analysis and refinement.

Or on a more complex scale:

  • Discovery
  • Conceptual
  • Implementation
  • Data Capture/Aggregation and Reporting
  • Analyse and refine

My website ranks well on Google, will the new website affect this?

We love being honest, so, depending on how this is managed, fortunately,/unfortunately, yes. If all the steps are followed correctly to ensure your crawled pages have been safely migrated to your new, faster, leaner website, then your new website will positively affect your ranking. If the SEO migration steps have not been followed, then you may find that certain pages that used to rank will no longer rank, and sometimes even the entire website will be deranked as it will be seen to have broken links causing search engines like google who have crawled your website to label your site as an unhealthy and infected website. What does “Custom made website” mean?

We’ve found that for most agencies, the phrase “Custom-made website” means they take a templated website they may have purchased through a third-party vendor and customise it with your content. Completely disregarding the requirement for your user’s path to purchase and requirements, but turning their focus on seeing their profits soar by constructing websites in 1/8th of the time they bill their clients.

Custom-made for us means that our pen-to-paper wireframes are entirely based on the research of your user’s path to purchase, completely customising the journey for your users explicitly tailored to them. Then we bring our wireframes to life by designing and prototyping our designs to conduct user testing to qualify the journey. This gives no option for the developers but to build the website entirely from scratch, with the code being written completely for the intended design, function and purpose it was designed for.

This also means you get a lightning-fast, SEO-ready website from the get-go. Our builds guarantee a score of over 95% on Google Light Speed tests which is what SEO is based on today.

Why go through all the effort for intense branding exercises

Your brand is more than just your logo. Your brand comprises your clients, the value and benefits your product or service brings to your clients, your company’s culture and a visual representation of what it looks like.

More often than not, whenever we’ve worked with brands that have been around for a while (assuming to themselves they have a brand), we’ve conducted branding workshops and found every stakeholder from every sector of the company completely misaligned to what the brand stands for. So the purpose of all that effort is to get everyone aligned and create a brand that becomes a living, breathing entity that wears an emotional connection with your customers and future prospects. Leave a footprint in your customers’ hearts and minds with a precise characterisation of your brand. Simply ask yourself, could your customer describe your brand?
